Tyrone Improvement Group

This program, started in 2021, provides the opportunity for community members to purchase a banner honoring a veteran or a relative of a Tyrone resident that was a veteran. The banner contains information on the Veteran including their serve photo, branch of service, and years of service. The program is intended to honor and serve as a memorial to our veterans. The banners are displayed on the light poles throughout downtown between Memorial Day and the end of Fall.  The banners will then be returned to the sponsor and can be rehung the following year.

If you are interested in sponsoring a Veterans banner or rehanging a previous banner you can find us at the American Legion during the following times for 2024:
 

• January 11 at 6-8 pm

• January 23 at 6-8 pm

• January 30 at 1-3 pm

• February 8 at 6-8 pm

• February 20 at 6-8 pm

• February 25 at 1-3 pm

• March 14 at 6-8 pm

• March 19 at 6-8 pm

• March 24 at 1-3 pm

A new banner is $75 and a rehung banner is $25. If you are sponsoring multiple banners for the first time, any additional banners are $50. All proceeds from this project benefit local veterans initiatives.
